Outreach:

Basic purpose and ministry of this group: To strive to care physically, spiritually and emotionally for people in our communities and in our world in the name of Christ.

 Major Events/Programs:

• Blood Drive  -  We are a four seasons congregation.   The blood mobile comes to our congregation 4 times a year. We usually have about 25 participants. Because of our congregation’s participation in the Blood Drive, anyone from our congregation can get blood when they need it.
• Senior Citizens Luncheon – Twice a year (usually May & Oct.; 2^nd Tues. of the month), we work with First Christian Church to help with the luncheon, held at St. Jude’s Church.  We supply the paper goods, desserts, table decorations and entertainment.
• Samaritan Inn Meal (McKinney) –  Our congregation supplies meals for the Samaritan Inn the 2^nd Sunday of every month..  Also needed are food staples, clothes, sleeping bags, etc.  The Samaritan Inn houses about 40-50 people, (many of them children, which changes from day to day). There is a green bin in the narthex marked for the Samaritan Inn for donations.
• March or April – Coordinate one Luncheon for Lenten season at our church.  Check with Pastor as to when our turn will be.
• April or May – participate in the “Allen Trash-off”.  Details and exact dates from the City of Allen.
• Allen Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry/ Allen Community Outreach Resale Shop – We have a blue bin in the narthex that we continually empty and take to St. Jude’s to the Food Pantry.
• Allen Community Outreach Thanksgiving Food Drive –We decorate boxes in which the food is put in, to be delivered to needy families.
• November – Participate in the “Texas Recycles Day”, Trash pick-up, with the City of Allen.
• Angel Tree – Each year our congregation members purchase Christmas gifts for needy families.
